Jon Gottshall's mysterious, atmospheric images use a hybrid digital/analog process of photographs taken in and around Portland at night, capturing a surprising amount of color not normally seen by the human eye. He then prints these color images onto non-absorbent materials and allows the ink to run and blend. This analog version is then scanned and layered onto the original photograph. The combination is always surprising and unexpected, another layer of discovery.
